The first year of activity of the company in some key aspects

THE GENESIS OF AN IDEA

The BONE 3D adventure began in the apartment of its founder: Jérémy Adam, doctor in Biomechanics from the Arts et Métiers. After completing his thesis, Jérémy wanted to put his newly acquired knowledge and the results of his research at the service of health. Passionate about innovation and new technologies, he decided to turn to 3D and created his company, supported by the business incubator of the ENSAM and by associating with his former colleague and friend: Benoît Perrin. BONE 3D is born! He also hired Jonas Kosior, who became Production Manager: the machine was launched!

THE 1ST PROTOTYPE

The first product – C-Rhino – the post-rhinoplasty conformation splint, was born out of the observation reported by a good number of patients who had undergone both cosmetic and reconstructive rhinoplasty and complained about the non-existent comfort of the cast their surgeons recommended. R&D is off to a great start

LE BLOC

After starting out at home, BONE 3D moved to the coworking space LE BLOC, where it would have some great encounters, such as the one with the Billy Bones agency, which would also create its logo and graphic identity. During this time, the company continues to grow and welcomes Mélanie Gatin, its Communication and Marketing Manager. The products and projects are more and more popular. Then, BONE 3D invests its own premises at 8 passage du Moulinet, in the heart of the Butte-aux-Cailles, an ideal setting, to boost the creativity of its employees, associated with a space conducive to a growing production of devices.

ENHANCEMENT & INNOVATION

BONE 3D is beginning to distribute nostril conformers dedicated to healing cleft lip and palate in infants and young children. Facing a very strong demand from surgeons for a more modern and adaptable solution, BONE 3D develops its own state-of-the-art conformer: BB-Rhino.

AN IMPRESSIVE NUMBER OF DEVICES SOLD

In 1 year BONE 3D has treated nearly 600 patients including more than 40 cases with its custom solutions. This represents a great activity for a first year.

BONE 3D INTERNATIONAL

Finland, Switzerland, the United States: from the very beginning, BONE 3D could not resist the call of the international market. Today, the company sells its surgical simulators outside national boundaries.

EARNING THE TRUST OF YOUR PEERS

During this first year of activity, BONE 3D acquired the status of JEI (Young Innovative Company), granted by the State. The company has also obtained the Innov’up subsidy by the BPI (Banque Publique d’Investissement) as well as an honorary loan – with the support of the Île de France Region and the support of the Arts et Métiers Foundation.

THE PRODUCTION WORKSHOP

This year the company will have expanded its machine fleet with the Stratasys J750 and will soon invest in a machine that will be able to process titanium. The constant improvement of its means of production in accordance with its time and technological advances is a leitmotiv for this young company at the forefront of innovation.

NORMS AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

From the very beginning, BONE 3D is moving forward with the asserted will to grow with an intelligent and standardized operation, it is working to obtain the ISO 13485:2016 standard in this first year.

In addition, 3 of the devices designed by BONE 3D are the subject of an International Patent application, many other innovations should soon follow this path.

A YEAR OF EVENT

BONE 3D was pleased to be the official partner of the Xth Congress of the AFFF (Association Francophone des Fentes Faciales) on March 22 and 23, 2019 at the Palais d’Iéna, of the Congress of the SFNC (French Society of Neurosurgery) in Strasbourg on March 27, 2019, and will have the pleasure of exhibiting at the Viva Tech innovation fair from May 16 to 18. These bubbling places of meeting and knowledge allow us to demonstrate our solutions to healthcare professionals, but also and above all to enrich our projects by being inspired by their wishes.

THE TEAM

In the space of a year the company has hired 7 people in various key positions. This team, the backbone of the company, has shown unwavering commitment – participating in the many successes of this young start-up that is BONE 3D. It is worth mentioning that the team respects gender parity with the 4 men and 4 women who compose it.

AN ALMOST UNLIMITED SCOPE

BONE 3D works in different specialties of medicine: maxillofacial surgery, Pediatrics, Cosmetic surgery, Dental, Education, Veterinary, which gives it a panoramic vision of health. A vision without horizon that BONE 3D wishes to keep.

A WELL ESTABLISHED CORPORATE POLICY

BONE 3D strives to apply professional and moral principles within itself.
